Collision shop recommendation? [Sep. 27th, 2006|10:44 pm]
Burbank and the Valley

Hi, everyone. I'm usually a buffalo_dork, but I'm out on the West Coast visiting. And, I have a problem... My friend got into an accident in Downtown Burbank (which, I've heard, happens often), and we need a recommendation for a collision shop in the area... The ones that were recommended by her insurance company were: Garden(?) Auto Collision in N. Hollywood, Auto Bodycrafters in Glendale, and Quality Body Works also in Glendale. Has anyone had any experience with these shops? Are there any that you folks can recommend?

Also, we're not familiar with how the California traffic law system works. The accident was because we went through a stop sign, so she got a ticket for that. How can she get out of this with the least damage? Just plead guilty and go to traffic school? Any help with this would also be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm new to the area and I need a recommendations for the following in the area of Burbank/NoHo/Glendale:

-general practitioner doctor (or nurse practitioner)
-gynecologist
-diabetes specialist

MDs, DOs and NPs are all fine by me.

If you really like your doc/np in one or more of the above categories, please let me know!

Oh, and I'm also looking for a dentist in the area!

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a good vet with boarding facilities in the Burbank/NoHo area? This is for a cat.

Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian for cats in Burbank? There are several in the area of my soon-to-be apartment, but I don't know which are good/bad.

The LA Zoo [Jun. 4th, 2006|11:05 pm]

I went to the LA Zoo for the first time ever last month. They were doing a baby zoo animal promotion for May so I got to see lots of cute babies! The zoo makes for a good day trip, especially for families (strollers everywhere!), and you can get in your exercise walking to all of the exhibits. A few of the places are under construction, but there are plenty of animals to see. They also have special kid areas, and even a petting zoo I believe.

(If you look really close you should be able to spot the baby giraffe!)

It costs $10 to get in for adults, but I sprung for the individual membership for $45 so I can go whenever I want and bring a few friends (I got two guest passes), so it is pretty reasonable. This also means you don't have to wait in the long line! They have a bunch of gift shops and places to eat as well.

The zoo is in Griffith Park, close to Burbank/Glendale.

Hello and Welcome... [May. 28th, 2006|11:48 pm]

I created this community since I felt there was a need for an active community for Los Angeles-area people, specifically Burbank and the surrounding cities (NoHo, Studio City, Hollywood, etc.). I'd like this community to be a place to ask questions (like has anyone been to the 24 Hour Starbucks in Burbank that my friend sweetjezebel mentioned the other day!), post about events going on, reviews of local restaurants, best places to go thrift store shopping, new stores, best areas to look for apartments, where to shop...the list goes on!

Please post away and tell your friends about the community!
